Our Curriculum

Our daycare incorporates the Abeka curriculum which incorporates an enriched learning experience in a Christian based setting. Children are provided multiple opportunities each day to make use of these skills through this curriculum as well as additional hands on activities which we create and combine to result in their positive growth and education. We also enhance this curriculum with the addition of theme days, visits from our local librarian and Fire Department, Stretch N Grown which fosters in the development of your child's gross motor skills in a fun and cooperative environment. The following are also added as a bonus in creating the complete curriculum.

  1. Weekly Music Lessons
  2. Weekly Bible Lessons
  3. Weekly Science Exploration
  4. Weekly Spanish Lesson

MEAL SERVICE

Nutritional and well balance meals are served daily. We provide breakfast, hot lunch and an afternoon snack. All juice served is 100% pure juice. We request no outside food be brought into the center as we do have students with food allergies. We try our best to be conscientious of these needs. We do allow special birthday celebration foods to be brought in and shared with child's class but we request that you please clear this with our office staff first.

Your infants are eligible for infant cereal, baby food and formula provided by our center when age appropriate for the infant and upon your choosing.

NAPTIME

Daily naptime is provided for the children to refresh themselves for their afternoon activities. We provide nap mats and create a quiet and comfortable sleep environment for all of our Pre-Kindergarten groups and younger.

COMMENCEMENT EXERCISES

We sponsor a cap and gown graduation for our Pre-Kindergarten class each May to recognize their hard work and effort in their accomplishment of educational growth. Of course, this celebration would not be complete without kid friendly refreshments!

ELEMENTARY SCHOOL TRANSPORTATION

Our daycare offers before and after school transportation to area schools to and from our center. Children are transported in our own vans and buses by our staff. Please communicate with our office to obtain the transportation schedule as well as the schools in which we service.

TUITION PAYMENT

For the convenience of our parents we offer payments choices in the form of cash, money orders, cashier's check, check, debit, MasterCard and Visa.

MILITARY HONORS

We appreciate and embrace the sacrifices of our military men and women and would like to extend to them a 10% discount on tuition services to thank them for their selfless services in allowing us the freedom of choice within our center. THANK YOU!

OUR STAFF

Our center is operated with dual directors to ensure the safety and well being of our students and the families in which we serve. Both of our directors hold a director's license which has been approved by the Texas Department of Protective and Regulatory Services.

Owner and Director Caty Judd has been on these premises since August 1997. She has 22 years of daycare experience and is a native Dallasite. Director Lily Garcia has been employed at King Arthur's Castle since April 2000. She has 12 years of daycare experience and originates from Brownsville, Texas.

King Arthur's Castle employs teachers and staff that can exhibit patience, love, kindness and understanding to the children in their care. Teachers must be able to attend to the physical and emotional needs of these children.

Our staff is expected to create a structured environment which supports positive growth for each child. Everyday skills are taught which enable the children to grow by great leaps and bounds from learning to use a spoon on their own to drinking from a regular cup. We also help and cooperate efforts with families in the toilet learning process. Older children are taught the importance of manners, self control and respect for self and others. Their environment if also enriched with group activities which promote team effort as well as individual success. Older children are exposed to the importance of mentoring to others and a positive role model through their own self example and efforts.

All of our staff is required to have a clear background check, FBI finger print, CPR and First Aid training, and a negative TB test. Additionally, 20 clock hours per year are required of our staff to continue their own education and development in childhood subjects. Our Directors are required 30 additional hours per year to continue their own growth and development in childhood needs. These requirements exceed the TDPRS standards to create added stability for our students.
